Welcome Franklin Falcons!
Hello Parents and Students,
It is my pleasure in welcoming you to Franklin Academy Cooper City's 3rd year!!! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing summer and are ready to continue the amazing things that took place last year, as this year we will be "Navigating for Knowledge". This is a very special year, as Franklin Academy Cooper City (Middle School) will be going through it's International Baccalaureate verification to become an IB World School! As many of you know the International Baccalaureate Organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessments. These programs encourage students to become active, compassionate and life long learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. We will be instilling in our students that learning doesn't stop when school is over and that there are important aspects of life outside our country.
A little about myself:
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia into a military family, but have grown up in the Weston, Florida area. I have been married now for 2 years to my beautiful wife and we will be expecting our 1st child this February! I am a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Small Business Entrepreneurship and a Minor in Business Law. Possessing this background, I feel I can not only teach your children the foundations of learning, but also help them develop the skills and knowledge needed for critical thinking, problem solving and decision making. Coming from a military background, I will conduct my class in a STRICT but FAIR manner. I expect that when the bell rings my students are in their seats, work/composition books out, pencils sharpened and ready to learn, as I will be ready to teach them the math skills they will need to succeed. Following these rules will create a conducive learning environment for all. Teaching is something that I do wholeheartedly and realize that you are entrusting me with your most treasured possession...your children. My goal as a teacher is to motive and encourage your children to reach their highest potential.
I teach with an open-door policy. This allows my students to feel comfortable and accepted by all. I believe that if children hear they will forget, if children see they will remember, and if children do they will understand. Every child CAN learn. I'm looking forward to having a fun 2015-2016 year as we prepare for the next step in your children's education.
